I was expecting this to be a little bit too “strictly come dancing” for me but I was wrong. It’s set in the 1930’s in and around a grand hotel in London.

Anton writes a narrative that allows the reader to be there. It’s full of diversity both in the difference between rich and poor but also tackles several other diverse topics in a loving way.

There are so many characters you can’t help feel an affinity to at lease several of them and you want so much for their story to end well and to explore how they survive where the book begins, with a disaster.

A truly lovely read written with heart and passion and colour throughout. I’d highly recommend this to anyone whether you enjoy strictly or not!
