Moonlight Over Mayfair is a triumphant return to the Buckingham Hotel for the multi-talented Mr du Beke. Readers are reunited with all their favourite characters from One Enchanted Evening with Nancy Nettleton, a chambermaid at the hotel, at the forefront. There is so much going on at the Buckingham it keeps readers turning one page after another reluctant to put this book down. I thoroughly enjoyed One Enchanted Evening and was looking forward to Moonlight Over Mayfair and I wasn't disappointed. I'm sure all return readers will feel the same and there will be new readers who enjoy this book and go back to read the first one. I've deliberately not said anything at all about the story as readers really need to get this and read it for themselves. In Anton du Beke's message to readers he promises a return to the Buckingham which will be eagerly awaited by many although, as this is October, I imagine the author might be busy with other matters at the moment. There is so much attention to detail, a great story, beautiful cover and even the end papers are a wonderful 1930s style design. Would it be too much to hope for a television adaptation?
