Never read anything by Anton DuBeke before but I would definitely read more of him in future as I really enjoyed this.
The story is set in the Grand Buckingham hotel with major emphasis on the ballroom (of course as the author is a professional dancer.)
The tale revolves around all the guests and permanent residents of the hotel, following their careers, lives, loves and fortunes.
Some are just arriving at the hotel, some are leaving to pursue careers outside of the Grand Buckingham.
We hear their tales of love and heartbreak all set just before the start of World War II.
All in all a wonderful slice of life depicting a lot of historical detail of the era.
