What a magical read. I won this book, so I only realised halfway through that this was actually the second part but I really enjoyed it nonetheless, and will probably be picking up the other parts too. The story was truly magical, enchanting and with plenty of mystery and surprises to go around. I found I could really empathise and identify with some of the characters and the storyline definitely captured my attention and curiosity, leaving me wanting to know more and keep reading. I found the writing style to be quite different to my usual books so that made a nice change too. I also found there were a lot of unexpected events and things that took me by surprise, though that could just be me being slow when others probably figured these out along the way. All in all definitely worth holding this heavy hardback, even when lying down in bed at night because I just could not put it down.
