The cover had a summarish feel to it, so it did not immediately draw me as autumn/winter reading. However, having read the extract, it sounds like a good family story. Yes, it feels a bit soap operish and not something I would usually pick up, but then perhaps a relaxing read every now and then is not a bad thing?
