This is the first book by Erica James that I've read. I found it to be an enjoyable easy read, but somewhat predictable in parts. The story is based around Naomi and her two grown up daughters Martha and Willow. During the story we learn the truth about Naomi's marriage to her deceased husband and how history is in danger of repeating itself for one of her daughters. The book covers betrayal, coercive behaviour, domestic abuse and pregnancy.

Whilst the story was an easy enjoyable read it was very predictable in parts and I found the end of the book a slight let down in that everything was neatly tidied up without too much drama. I'm not sure how often that would actually happen in real life. I enjoyed the writing style and thought the characters were well written. I'd be happy to read more of Erica James's books to see how they compare to this one.
