The beginning to me, displayed glimpses of female relationships. What it is to experience motherhood, the expectation of motherhood and the want and longing to become a mother. I loved that this book is set in current times, with reference to the pandemic and so, it is relatable to anyone that reads it. The characters seem very close in their familial unit and I’m really intrigued to find out more about them and how their relationships may develop, or falter. For me, it seems as though the characters have experienced a loss and are going through the motions of grief and so, I feel there may be some family dramas to come. The first two chapters were certainly, lovely to read. Martha, you can tell is a character who knows what she wants and who likes to have control of her life, whereas, Willow seems to be a little more laid back and drifts through life to wherever it takes her! If you like family orientated books this is definitely one to read! I loved what I’ve read so far!
