This book was such a change from some of the ones I have been reading lately. It is a charming old-school type story of a widow and her daughters and what she has kept from them all their lives. I loved the interaction of Naomi and her daughters, it reminded me of the special relationship between Mothers and Daughters, and made me sad to think I missed so much with my own Mum dying while I was still a young woman.

I loved the setting of Tilsham by the sea, and with the help of the cover, I was able to picture the story as it unfolded, and felt it would make a spectacular setting for a film. The description of the settings and characters brought the book to life, and made me feel I was there with them sharing their home, and their lives.

The addition of Ellis was a lovely touch, and rounded the book off nicely, and I warmed to him and was pleased that Naomi found him again.
