Mothers and daughters is such a good read I couldn’t put it down. The book centres around the main characters Naomi, the mother, widowed two years ago after a seemingly happy marriage. Martha the eldest daughter, married and steady and a Willow the younger daughter who has a very carefree nature.
The story unfolds after Naomi starts a relationship which Martha in particular is unhappy with and feels that he father’s memory is being betrayed. The book introduces several characters with their differing personalities. As the book progresses the secrets of the Miller girls are starting to come out.
Mothers and daughters is very heartwarming with a few surprises along the way. I felt very engaged with the family and their story with a backdrop of a village by the sea. I read it quickly because I was interested in the story. I felt the characters all had a story to tell which added to the plot. I will look for more books by this author.
