Old secrets. New beginnings. And what happens to a family when the truth comes to light.

The story is centred around Naomi and her two daughters, Martha & Willow; two years after the death of Naomi's husband, and the girls father, Colin.
Naomi has slowly been rebuilding her life at Anchor House, her beautiful beach front home. Now, one of her oldest friends, Ellis, is back on the scene.
Martha, the eldest of the girls, and her father's daughter for sure, has her life pretty much in control, all bar that she is desperate to have a baby with her husband Tom.
Willow, the youngest Miller girl, the empath & easy-going one, yet a drifter through life, but now has a reason to settle down, she has a new charming boyfriend, Rick.

All three women in this book I liked, and felt empathy towards their individual plights.
Erica James has done an excellent job of highlighting how Narcassists operate, and how their behaviours have a knock on effect to not only current partners, but also their children, and the relationships they seek out.
Ellis, I also liked, and couldn't help but think, if only the clock could be turned back, and him & Naomi had gotten together all those years back. But then we wouldn't have had this story to read.
It goes without saying, I despised the character of Rick! Having had personal dealings with narcassists, and now understanding their behaviours, I knew from the off, from the first red flag, what he was! But Karma caught up with him in the end!
Ironically, my own hubby is called Rick, but is thankfully as far from a narcassist you can get, and he actually saved me from the narcassist I was trapped with.

This book is exceptional!
I haven't read any of Erica James' books before this one, so I went in blind. But, I most certainly wasn't disappointed! It's a beautifully written, easy read.
