It is a while since I have read an Erica James book. Her latest novel ‘Mothers and Daughters’ is a reminder of her wonderful story telling ability.

It tells the story of Naomi and her two very different adult daughters Martha and Willow, interwoven with their respective partners and Colin, Naomi’s deceased husband and the sister’s dad.

There are themes of family, friendship, trust and control. The characters are believable, relatable and captivating. There are both lighter and darker moments in the book, all written sensitively and which kept me avidly reading to the final page. This would make a great holiday read, whether laying in the sun or sat cosy by a fire. The book is equally as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Readers First and to the publisher for the opportunity of a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
