Mouth to mouth is written as a conversation between two old friends who meet by chance at an airport. On paper it doesn’t sound like an exciting way to write, yet it works brilliantly. I loved the atmospherics both of the delays in the airport and the scenes Jeff was reliving.

Jeff found himself on a beach when a swimmer gets into trouble. Jeff saves the man’s life and then becomes obsessed in finding out who he saved and if he did in deed survive.

What follows is an intriguing tale of humanity and philosophy. The book is witty and clever. The pace is good with very short chapters and easy to read style.

The author looks at what it is to be a good person, as Jeff becomes more and more embroiled in the life of the man he saved. Jeff questions whether he should have chosen to save the man, does he now have some responsibility for the choices this man makes.

I truly unique and thoroughly intriguing book. So well written and makes you think right up to the last line.
