Reading Mouth to Mouth is almost like reading a novel from another era. There's something reminiscent of The Great Gatsby in its narration; the narrator being slightly in awe of the main character, the person who really takes centre stage.

It was a quick read, with excellent pacing that keeps the story moving, and dry witticisms from our narrator who is watching Jeff with intrigue. At times it's difficult to know just who is telling this story, and through who's eyes we are seeing these events unfold.

At times this novel reads like a character study of Jeff, a man who is disgusted by his actions, and so deeply regrets them, as he justifies his life to a man from his past who he happens to bump into in an airport. The biggest irony is, Jeff sees himself as a good man, more humble than Francis who's life he has saved, yet his interactions with our narrator seem rehearsed, and even contrived.

Ultimately, I raced through this, and would recommend to anyone who has ever wondered why they acted the way they did.
