At first, I wasn't particularly keen on this book, but I decided to read on anyways... The finale is what really grasped my attention!!
Two college pals were reunited after a delayed flight at JFK. They exchange pleasantries while waiting for their flight in the first class lounge. Then one of the buddies, Jeff Cook, proceeds to talk about an important event in his life that altered everything.
Jeff explains how he performed CPR on a drowning man and saved his life. Following the rescue, Jeff became obsessed with learning more about the guy he had resuscitated. He learns that the guy he saved was Francis Arsenault, a well-known art dealer. Jeff's interest leads to him landing a job at Francis' art gallery.
Francis doesn't appear to remember Jeff, but he notices something in him that makes him a mentor to him. Francis shows him everything there is to know about the art world.
These events lead up to the most unpredictable ending that is simply unbelievable!!
