I'm really quite into historical fiction so this book really intrigued me.

The first thing I noticed about this book is that it is written in first person. So I was slightly sceptical about reading it as I'm not a massive fan of reading in first person. However, I found myself utterly engrossed in the thought processes of the characters: the quick double-thinking, the doubts and uncertainties, and the misunderstandings and nervousness. In hand with that, the characters' back stories aren't specified at the beginning, thus, they are given time to roll out as the plot unravels.

The use of description is a literal work of art, with a wonderful poetic quality, similar of those in classics, and it completely drew me in.

People always say "don't judge a book by its cover" but I must admit, the cover is really beautifully designed.

I'd definitely suggest giving this book a shot!
