This book was very nostalgic for me. It reminded me of a mixture of Robinson Cruise, Swiss Family Robinson and Island of the blue dolphins that I read as a teenager. As a lover of Bear Grylls the Island, I was drawn to the family's struggle for survival on a remote island that lacked any form of civilisation. When the new sailors arrived from afar, I enjoyed finding out how the two groups would get on.

At this point it became a bit long winded as both groups backgrounds were explained. Just as I was about to give up though, a child went missing and a new baby was born. The mystery and emotion that went with both kept me hooked and I'm glad it did because I enjoyed reading to the end.

Feel good, interesting, emotional, enjoyable.
