I'm not sure if it is just a sign of getting old or it was more to do with the stories. The characters were not all that easy to relate to and almost felt like caricatures of university students. Sometimes this can work - look at successful tv shows like 'Fresh Meat' but other times it is kind of frustrating. I didn't hate it but I didn't really have any desire to find out what would happen next in the story.
