I was intrigued by one reviewer's description of My Not So Functional Family by Bridie Jabour as 'Mitford sisters for the millenial generation' as I greatly enjoyed the books of Nancy Mitford based on her family and only recently finished reading The Letters of Nancy Mitford edited by her nephew's wife, Charlotte Mosley. Amusing stories of family dynamics are always enjoyable, entertaining reading whether set at the start of the 20th century or the 21st century and the Carters are sure to entertain readers of this book. Claudia has returned to her mother's home one week before her wedding, a wedding she is now having doubts about, where she is joined by Poppy, one of her sisters, and her brother Phinn and will soon be joined by her other sister, Zoe, and her best friend, Nora. Claudia's parents are separated and her father has a girlfriend but all does not appear to be going well with them. We are all familiar with the tendency to regress when returning to the family home and the Carters are no different. Family dynamics are always a fascinating subject and I'm certain this is going to be a very funny read. Great holiday book.
