My Not So functional family. I'm not always a big fan of light-hearted books as it sometimes bores me, but in this instance I feel like this book is a relaxing read. It was a good way of coming down from a high of reading fantasy after fantasy. It was like running a race and slowing down for a walk. I liked the wit from some of the characters and enjoyed that they each had their part in the story and it wasn't solely based on the main character. I did, however, feel like the book was slightly more feminine, with 3 girl siblings and the mother discussing fashion and make up etc. I enjoyed reading about the relatable issues, which most readers can link themselves go- family conflict and sibling rivalry.. I liked this book until the end. When the plot twists and there is a sort of suspense, readers get excited, just to be let down by an abrupt ending to an otherwise good story! Would recommend as a summer read but would not assume it to be groundbreaking.
