I give three and a half stars.

My Not So Familiar Family, wasn’t exactly what I was expecting to read, but it still held up on some things. The book follows a woman named Claudia who is about to get married.

I think before any really serious life event, you consider your options and wonder whether you are doing the right thing. Taking the right course for yourself to grow as a person. Claudia is at a place where she needs to discover whether she is marrying her fiancé Dylan for the right reasons. She goes back home to her family home in Winton, where there are seriously complex family dynamics and her best friend Nora.

The premise of the book is really intriguing, family feuds and longing to find answers to serious dilemmas in life.

I cannot knock Bridie Jabour for her writing skills. I felt the book was written particularly good. I feel like some of the characters and family portrayals could have been executed stronger, and character growth developed further.
