Very entertaining and a quick read as a whole, however the book really lacks a plot and direction. The title of the book is definitely more fitting than the Australian title (The Way Things Should Be). Poppy’s middle name is Blanche and she puts one in mind of “Whatever happened to baby jane” as she is out to cause drama, which drives the book but she is quite cringey. The brother is the calm contrast to the sisters, a more likeable character. However, if this book was a TV show it would be a daytime soap opera so it depends what kind of book you’re looking for! The physical book itself has an appealing layout, is well spaced (blank page between each chapter etc) and the soft cover which doesn’t crease down the spine is very pleasing.
