"The idea of marriage still seemed so foreign to her that it was almost subversive"

Except this line of the book - which is me in every way - these first chapters were nothing special. I would read a few chapters more just to see if it will become more interesting, but so far, it did not capture me much.

Writing style is good, it is very fluent and easy to read. However, it lacks of a story. Yes, the main character has doubts on her upcoming nuptials, but who doesn't the week of her marriage.
The family is not so well fitted - hence the title - but again, all families have something strange about them.
It is just way too similar to the every day life, which is a bit boring.
When I read a book I want to read something new, not something I see in my everyday life; but hey, that's only my opinion!
