The premise of this book is really quite clever as in a modern world we can all relate to a 'not so functional family.' The story and characters encompasses this well with some very funny bits throughout. Some themes are very much contemporary and many can relate to them.

However, as much as I did rally like this book I simply expected more especially as I loved the first impression that I read, it is very simple with little character depth so hard to get into and route for the journey of the characters.

However, saying this, it is just a simple easy read that is easy to follow and in general is enjoyable. It won't blow you away but worth a read if you are bored and want a little giggle now and again.
