My Not So Functional Family is a fun read full of dynamic characters within their gang. Some all be it slightly irritating but that’s what makes the story liven up. This was my first read by this author and I would be happy to read another. Light hearted but it is a slow burner, limited direction. However, the premises is great, I did have really high expectations. I did find I had to stick with it but about half way through I really started to become invested in the story and characters and for me it improved. I wasn’t in favour of certain language that was used, I don’t mean to sound prudish and not a lot shocks me but I felt it simply unnecessary and out of place. It wasn’t my favourite read but it was an enjoyable and light hearted quick read. Perfect for the summer.
