I loved how the author expressed the sibling rivalry and relationships. Growing up with two sisters the drama and the struggle living with siblings was spot on.
This book brilliantly displays what life is truly like living with siblings. Some of the feelings and memories reading this novel evoked in my were all so real.
If you have a spouse who grow up with siblings and you were an only child wondering what all the fuss was about, wondering why it is never possible to have a nice family dinner without all hell breaking loose! This novel is for you. It will help you to understand what your other half went through the good and the bad.
I loved the story, I just wish some of the individual characters issues had been developed further. I would have liked more focus on Nora, how she was really feeling and what the future held for her. I would have liked to have known what would have happened if Poppy was to share her true feelings about how she felt deep inside, would we see her negatively as we do?
The author detailed the struggles siblings have with an over baring mother. I can relate to this. Those feelings of resentment, never being able to complete with your siblings for your mothers attention, never being good enough to warrant her attention.
