I first heard of this book several months back and hastily added it to my read list for various reasons. First is that I enjoy dark comedies. Second, I enjoy books about crime. Third, the world is lacking in books from African novelists.

I've read hundreds of books and yet I can't think of more than one that was written by someone from Africa or set in Africa. A whole continent devoid of the attention it deserves, and why? Who knows, because 'My Sister, The Serial Killer' is terrific. At least from what I've read from the first look. The writing style is one that resonates with me. Simple and straightforward but getting everything across that it needs to.

And what more, the best book is a memorable one which feels like it flew by. It took me no time at all to read the first impression, yet I can remember it and picture it so clearly. Whether or not I get a copy to review I'll be buying it at some point in the near future. This is a book I can't go without reading.
