This was my first read of 2019 and it was a 5/5 star read for me!
Ordinarily, I wouldn't choose this book because it isn't the kind of genre that I tend to reach for.
This year I wanted to broaden my choices in genre and I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this choice!
This has become one of my favourite books of all time and I would really love if a follow up book came out to expand on the plot and characters. However, I don't know if this is because I struggle to read inconclusive endings that are open ended. I like to have answers rather than be left wondering but I suppose that is dependant on what style of story you prefer.
I also loved that it was written by a woman of colour and contained characters who were relatable to many people. More of this should be around!
