I tried this book as seeing it being nominated for the women's prize. I enjoyed this book and liked the characters particularly the protagonist. I feel this book did well to portray Nigerian culture and society which helped to flesh out the characters. The protagonist was likeable and you do genuinely feel for her. As the title suggests, the narrative centres on the protagonist and her sister, who kills men she becomes romantically involved with, and her sister's attempts to protect the man she loves. The story isn't necessarily built to reach a big plot twist at the end or a huge climax but is more an exploration of the characters and the difficult but nevertheless close relationship of the sisters.
