I'm sad that I am only giving this 3 stars as I thought I was going to absolutely love this, I had very high expectations. I devoured it like a 5 star read however the characters completely let the story and writing style down.
How can two people be so dislikable and so completely different? They were infuriating and I honestly didn't care what happened to either of them. Why one sister had such a pull of the other was baffling to me! If my sister did and acted the way Ayoola did, well... God help me! Serious sociopath with some serious impulse issues.
Like I say the story and the writing style was actually amazing, on paper this book should have worked much better than it did. I felt drawn into all situations, the authors use of description was probably my favourite thing about the whole book. The ending was a nice surprise a good way to end the story. I will definitely reach out for more of this authors works, just this one missed the mark for me.
