My Sister The Serial Killer will not be what you expect - no matter what your expectations are. I went into this book expecting a typical dramatic crime drama. Instead I found a wry look at Nigerian life, an expose on sister sibling relationships, and a budding romance cut down too early.

Braithwaite writes fast, witty prose that helped me glide through this book in one delicious afternoon. Our protagonist, Ayoola, is a steady, pragmatic woman. Her sister, Korede is a hot head, a mantis who pulls in every man and woman in her vicinity.
This addictive novel is more of a case study of their relationship than a crime drama. Anyone with a extrovert sister or friend will be able to relate to some of Ayoola’s woes - and anyone who loves a fast, twisting plot won’t be able to put this down.
