I really enjoyed this novel. Braithwaite deftly orchestrate's tension between the sisters, through a growing sense of dread as we watch Ayoola grow closer and closer to Korede's doctor. I love how swift this novel is, and I read it in a couple of hours, completely sucked into the tension, prose and desperation to know what was going to happen. It's wonderfully dark, and I found myself really rooting for Korede to be brave and save the day, even when I also desperately wanted her to keep the terrifying, passionate Ayoola safe. It's been a few months since I read it, but I often think about this tiny hurricane of a book about sisterhood, the role of women, and loyalty. I look forward to more from Braithwaite.
