My Sister The Serial Killer does exactly what it says on the tin. A little slow to start, this is the story of two sisters, one who is steadfast, sensible and has access to lots of bleach, and another who has some terrible luck with men.

Possibly because she keeps murdering them.

I found it more dark than comedic, but I think this is more because of the quality of Braithwaite’s character building. Korede’s (of the high quality cleaning products) finds her loyalty is tested when her sister (the serial killer) puts the one man Korede thinks she could marry in jeopardy. As a protagonist, Korede is sweet and funny and a bit of a doormat and it’s hard not to relate to the way her personality slowly begins to erode under the stress of keeping her sister’s secret. You really root for her.

The only problem is, the more you learn about people, the more you truly see. And Korede learns the harsh truth: the longer you look, the less you like.

I totally recommend this - it’s a fun read, but a bit of a bleak one. Smash through it in a couple of days!
