Sadly, I don't understand the hype around this book. This was my choice for my book club, and I was insanely excited to pick it up as I am a huge true crime fan.
Originally I rated this book 3 stars, but after going back over it with my co-host, I decided to drop this to 2 stars. If it is okay in these reviews, our full book club discussion can be found here (https://youtu.be/lmAcb3oYnE0).
My main problem with this book is that I felt it was marketed wrong? I went in thinking it was going to be some gruesome tale of disposing of dead bodies, evading the police, and other juicy information. It was actually more of a tale of sisterly love, protection, and familial relationships.
One benefit to this book is that it was really short! Being just over 200 pages long meant that I managed to read it pretty much in one sitting. I feel like it discussed upbringing and the love between sisters very well, it just wasn't what I expected going into this book.
