'my sister, the serial killer' is a story that is in its essence about the lengths that we will go for to help our loved ones. it was engaging, fast paced and the perfect length for the plot. i really enjoyed the short chapters and the way they moved back and forth in time (without having to state the time periods, which is always a good sign!). i wouldn't call it suspenseful as such, and the plot is quite clear from even the title, but some parts genuinely surprised me, such as the ending. i wasn't so much of a fan of the romance subplot, but i do have to say that it never felt forced or shoe-horned in for me. it worked well and added an extra layer of tension between our mains, really pushing the plot forward. the writing was witty and sharp, with a level of satire that pushed some interesting questions to me. overall, i would definitely recommend this book!
