I read this book in two sittings as it was easy to read, engaging and intriguing.

The story is told from the point of view of Korede, a nurse at the local hospital, and starts with a call from her younger sister Ayoola who has just killed her boyfriend. Korede then helps her to clean up the scene and dispose of the body again.

There are a number of threads going through this short book, which is what makes it so compelling: sibling loyalty, an abusive upbringing, loneliness, and unrequited love.

Although Korede fiercely loves her sister and wants to protect she also resents her for being more popular, more beautiful and more easy going.

The characters were beautifully written and the story is just a snapshot into their lives and at the end you just know they are carrying on with their lives but we just can't see it.

I thoroughly recommend this book, and wish I had read it earlier.
