Thank you to Readers First for my copy of My Sister the Serial Killer.

When I read the 'first look' at this book I had my doubts. I found the main character's sister (the Serial Killer) to be annoying, spoilt and selfish. But having won the copy in the raffle I decided to give it a go.
My goodness. This was probably hands down one of the worst books I've ever read in my life.

Set in Nigeria, the story is told from the perspective of Korea's, Korede's Sister Ayoola keeps killing her boyfriends and asking Korede to dispose of the bodies. Ayoola is attractive, spoilt and brattish. A lot of this incredibly short novel focuses on her beauty and the crappy way she treats Korede who is described as very tall and ugly. But despite the crappy way she treats her, Korede always has her back. Even when she discovers Ayoola dragging her down and saying bad things about her behind her back.

This novel has been described as female satire. What it is in fact is a farce. Huge words and skinny paragraphs Make it up to 222 pages when in a normal format it would probably be more around 110. This short length means the story has no depth, no history, no real world building and no character building. I hated every single character in the book. Ayoola was a brat, Korede was weak, all the men were weak and just fell at Ayoola's feet, the mother was an idiot who couldn't see anything going on in front of her face. This novel has also been described as funny. It isn't. Not even a little bit. I would not recommend this book.
