So firstly this has just been announced as a shortlist for Women's Prize for fiction 2019, which is awesome! I'm all for supporting females in fiction!

The story follows Korede who is by all accounts a bit of a plain Jane. She's a nurse with a crush on one of the doctors at her hospital, enter Tade.
Her sister Ayoola is head turning beautiful and has a long list of men wanting to date and woo her. Unfortunately for them Ayoola is a serial killer and when Tade begins to have the hots for Ayoola it all gets a bit messy...

The premise of the book I loved; the short, snappy chapters I loved, and the slighty weird characters I also kind of loved. However, this wasn't much of a buildable story for me because there wasn't any character background. I wanted a bit more substance and meaning behind Ayoola's weird desire to kill men she's dating. Many reviews have stated that this book is funny, if it is funny then I totally missed the point because I didn't get that at all!

So in short, I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. As much as it pains me I'm only giving it 3/5
Please if you read this and loved it comment below, because I don't want people to be put off. It just isn't the book for me.
