My Sister, the Serial Killer is a witty and dark exploration of sisterhood.

Korede is used to looking after her beautiful sister Ayoola. We first meet the siblings in Lagos just as Ayoola has killed her third boyfriend in a row. Korede helps her clean up the mess, keeping her suspicions about Ayoola's claim of self-defence to herself, but pointing out that "Femi makes three, you know. Three and they label you a serial killer." She continues to try to protect Ayoola - stopping her from posting frivolous details about her life on social media when she is supposed to be concerned about Femi's disappearance. Her loyalties are torn however when Ayoola turns her attentions to the kind, handsome doctor at the hospital where she works - the doctor she is secretly in love with. Is Ayoola being cruel to be kind - demonstrating that he is just as shallow as every other man who instantly falls for her beauty, or does she simply just not care like the true sociopath Korede suspects she may be?

It's not a long novel and it's written in shorty punchy chapters that make it fly along. The two young woman are vibrantly drawn; their dialogue is sparky and Korede's narrative is frequently sardonic.

My Sister, the Serial Killer has its tongue firmly in its cheek. It invites you to suspend disbelief and takes you for a wild ride. Recommended if you want a quick read that's definitely a bit different.
