I enjoyed this book, it was fun relatively lighthearted while still covering some important issues about abusive relationships and adoption. The main characters were teenagers but adorable ones, they were occasionally stupid but not really bratty unlike in some young adult fiction. Loved that the two main characters were black and I feel like the more books I read with a diverse group of characters in it, the better for kids growing up that get the representation that they need.

It was a great escapism and such an easy read that I finished it in a couple of days.

The cover is good too, stylish but not too in your face. Not convinced on the title though.

I liked how there was redemption for different characters and some did get better with time. Love a learning curve. The story had just the right amount of intrigue but not too much stress which was definitely what I needed from a book!
