Its the classic small town, big dream storyline with an extra bit of romance!
The story follows Nikki a troubled teen who wants to escape her small town and start her career in music. She hates her life and dreams of more, planning to go to cali and never return.
Her best friend hear of this and steals her away for a week, trying to convince her to come back home after an audition.
It shows Nikki making hard decisions about her mother, sister and her friends. She also realises how much she loves her best friends, who happens to feel the same way. Its a heartwarming relationship that we see budding from friendship.
I honestly loved the book and could not put it down! It feel like a more mature angus, thongs book. I also love the its a romance on POC, something I dont see much of!
Cant wait to read the rest of the books by this author!
