This is such a good read I was really impressed with it, especially as I am typically not the targeted audience. I will be passing on copies to young people in my life. I thought the story was well written and I liked the characters and found them interesting. The story follows main characters Nikki, Mal and Vai. Nikki is unhappy and struggling with life problems, especially with her relationship with her mum and disappreance of sister. Nikki wants to leave home and audition as a singer but can her best friend Mal convince her to stay. The story is interesting and i know young people will relate to parts of the story and the interactions between characters. I haven't read books set in Texas before and found it a good setting for a story about a promising singer. The story has great drama and emotional read at times. I found it a fun and engaging read and I would definately recommend this book.
