Sadly I only received by copy 3 days before the release date, so I have not yet finished the book.
So far I am enjoying the book and feel it is on par with Joya Goffney's 2 other releases in this 'series'. I wouldn't say this one is my favourite of the three, but I'm keeping an open mind until I have actually finished.
The main protagonist, Nikki, is likeable and I'm enjoying seeing the story develop.
The portrayal of Nikki's family is realistic and something I am sure some readers will be able to relate to or sympathise with. I feel Goffney has written this in a way that is realistic, but not too in depth for slightly younger readers.
I feel that I can already see where the story is going, but I suppose that is to be expected, given that I am older than the intended target audience of this book.
So far it has been fairly enjoyable, but due to me feeling that I know where the story is going and not having had the book long enough to finish, I feel I can only give an 'average' rating of 3 stars at this point.
