Initially, I found the narrator/protagonist quite pathetic. We later learn that she suffers from insomnia and it is having a marked impact on her family life. I felt the power of the impact through the way the children interact with her. The first 20 pages have set the scene. This is going to be a fast paced, emotional and potentially sleepless journey!
