The first impression follows a mother struggling with insomnia as she tries to be a good parent to her two daughters. I found the portrayal of her insomnia to be very realistic and heartbreaking. Reading the sadly predictable consequences of her trying to live life normally for her children was gut wrenching. I'm interested to read this to see where the story goes from here, as this was very much and introduction and the plot described in the synopsis has not had a chance to kick off yet.
