This story follows Rose, a woman with a troubled past who battles with terrible insomnia. As the story unfolds we learn more about Rose and the relationship she has/had with her different family members. We also learn about the missing man Finn through his journal entries, and previous victims through chapters that are interspersed throughout the book. The book is well written and compelling, although not easy reading at times due to the terrible events that unfold. I know a book is good when you feel strongly about characters and you certainly feel strongly towards members of the police force in this book! Ideally I'd have liked a little more on Rose's husband Christian and her best friend Heather, who I felt were partly responsible for the early tragedy in the book. However, despite being more sad and darker than my usual type of book, I enjoyed reading this.
