I really wanted to like this book. The premise was interesting, the idea of the characters as individuals as good. But between the jumping around all over the place and the implausible storyline, it was hard to push myself to finish it.
The descriptive work was great, and provided very vivid images. On the flip side, the dialogue was awkwardly written, and the representation of a woman was enough to make me want to bang my head against a wall at times. Thinking of sex after someone has destroyed the house and she's being accused of being mad? We might not be prides as a sex but we're also not solely focused on getting laid during a murder investigation!
I ended up having to force myself through the last part of the book as, instead of the mystery grabbing me and making me intrigued, I was distracted by the way sentences could have been written better etc. A real disappointment.
