Jack Jordan has written a book about a woman, who suffering from insomnia, accidentally killed one of her daughters while falling asleep while driving a car and crashing it into a river.
Guilt, sorrow and the way her husband and remaining daughter blame her for the bad things which happened leave her in a very depressed state. Walking in a haze she bumps into a man and finds a diary of a gay man who had been systematically terrorised. The police are homophobic and not interested in detecting the missing diary writer. She starts to investigate by herself and puts her life in danger.
Unfortunately I found the plot a bit unbelievable but the characters were well crafted. The book is perhaps a bit too long as it gets heavy in the middle.
However the synopsis and cover should attract positive attention in book shops.
