This is the second Jack Jordan book I’ve read and in my opinion he has a great writing style and great future potential. This book took me a while to get into but once there I was truly hooked. It’s an original story with plenty of action and easy to follow but harder to predict. My only issue is my personal perception of the representation made of the police force in this story, it’s not based in a stereotypical red neck state or decades ago so the lack of accountability for some of their actions stretches the credibility. That aside I thoroughly enjoyed it, Rose was a brilliant main character, broken and obsessed but still likeable in her own way. The way her life spun apart and the impact it had on her life was well written, particularly the shell of a family that was left behind. Highly recommend and look forward to the next book.
