Initially, I thought the writing style would make it hard to get into this book, but it is quite the opposite. The author doesn't write with 'air and graces', there is no 'fluffy' language, so it was easy to be drawn into what I imagine will open out and become a wonderful, comfort blanket of a story.
I thoroughly enjoy a good historical fiction, and like that this is set in Morocco, as I have never had the pleasure of reading anything set in that location. It is obvious that Vicky and Clemence will both be big personalities within the story, but I think the Madeline will be an interesting addition to the narrative as well.
