It's been a while since I've read a Dinah Jeffries book- & as soon as I started to read the opening paragraphs, I was reminded how much I enjoy her novels.
The language is rich & evocative of the location, characters are quickly established through natural dialogue & the hint of mystery makes me want to continue reading.
The cover is gorgeous & I would definitely pick it up in a bookshop.
